I was working the copy editing desk in 2008 at the Daily Local News in West Chester, Pa. This was the year the Phillies won the world series for the second time in their history. There were actual riot-like parties in the streets of Philadelphia the night they won. I only read how they overturned cars and broke a lamp post, of course.

The excitement was palpable, especially since the sports department worked right next to us in an open room, and the TV was mounted above our corner on the wall. With the Phillies ready to enter the World Series, I was given the privilege of assembling one of the front pages that would preceed an epic win.
